Mace2847/159

Stone mace. Object is round and squat, with a flat top and bottom. The carved face of an animal protrudes from the side, with a long snout and two small ears atop the head. A large hole is carved through the centre of the mace, slightly narrower at its centre point and flaring toward each end. The stone has been polished to a shine, and the body is otherwise undecorated.

Stone pestle, green-grey in colour. The handle is flat at the tip, narrow through the round shaft and flares dramatically at the bottom into a wide circular base. The bottom is slightly rounded and smooth, has several whitish usage scratches, and is covered in a dark grey residue.

Stone pestle has a shaped top resembling a hand, with fingers in a loose fist. The shaft is cylindrical and flares slightly toward a thick round base, slightly curved on the bottom. Patches of rust appear on the base along with white residue. The pestle is made of a course grey stone, monochromatic.

Stone figure of a standing male made of a coarse grey stone, monochromatic in colour. It has a large head with big ears and nose, small, somewhat asymmetrical eyes and a slightly jutting chin. The mouth is open and horizontal and the back of the head is flat. Below a thick neck, wide shoulders taper to arms bent at the elbow and hands are centred over the stomach, where they clutch a round object. The figure has short legs, sharp knees and ankle bones, and thick feet. Some areas of white accretion.

Clay stamp. Face is flat, with a deeply cut pattern of a cross inside a cross-and-square motif. Remnants of an orange pigment cling to the edges of the pattern. The body of the stamp is somewhat bell shaped, flaring at the bottom and tapering toward a long narrowing handle with a rounded tip. The tip is stained a dark grey.

Clay rolling stamp, cylindrical in shape. Stamp has deeply cut, encircling patterns in straight diagonal lines, and zigzag triangles. Small remnants of pigment cling to areas of the design, in orange and grey. Both ends are wide and flat.

Clay rolling stamp, cylindrical in shape. Stamp has a thin central core that supports four sharply carved protruding disks. The two middle disks are shaped to make a zigzag pattern, the outer two with triangle designs. The edges of the disks are covered in a dark orange pigment. The ends of the stamp are slightly indented and flat, covered with a lighter orange pigment.

Clay rattle. The body is conical and flares toward the bottom, with a large, thick, round handle beginning on the top and looping down to connect at the bottom edge. The base of the rattle is circular and convex, covered in several rows of evenly spaced perforations that allow a rattling noise to emanate from the body.
