Description
Round box with hinged lid and latch: overall geometric pattern suggests basketry; curved handles on lid. Two medallion designs on either side of box; small hole near base at back. Small patches of a solder-like material on back side of body.
History Of Use
Bronze basket may have ceremonial as well as domestic purposes; for storage of valuables. Made by lost wax casting which was common in this area.
