Description

Metal double-barbed point (a) with a metal shaft wrapped in sinew and inserted into a hollow section of sinew-covered bamboo. Into this is fitted a mid-section of carved wood which is pointed at both ends. A bamboo shaft (b) wrapped with sinew at both ends. The posterior end is notched. The anterior end forms a socket which fits over the lower point of the metal shaft.

History Of Use

Since reeds grow near bodies of water, those areas lacking in water receive their reeds by trade. If broken, reeds are carefully repaired with glue and sinew.
