Description

Part of main shaft of arrow. A length of hollow reed which is blackened with glue and bound with sinew at one end. A small wooden notched plug is inserted in this end.

History Of Use

An arrowhead is attached to the composite shaft of which this is a part for hunting; the arrowhead is intended to remain in the animal while the more valuable shaft falls out.
