Description

Five shell beads strung on fishing line; one circular; one square with four corner holes; two rectangular with four corner holes; one diamond shaped with circles and green stone(?) inlay on each side and two small holes on either end.

History Of Use

These are individual beads from necklaces. There are examples from the north, south and central coasts. A number of examples are probably Late Intermediate Period in date (900-1476 C.E.) but this type of bead may not be exclusive to this Period.
