Description

16 stone and shell beads and inlays in a container. There are 6 irregularly shaped beads of blue/green stone. There is one thick, rectangular green stone and one bead. There is a single disc of pearlized shell as well as a slab-like bead with four corner holes which are now all broken. There are also two fragments of a pearl bead.

History Of Use

The discs and squares without holes were used to inlay various cast and hammered objects of metal and wood. The blue/green inlays were most frequently used on gilded objects, and the beads were used in necklaces and collar-like ornaments.
