Description

Unglazed coarse clay bowl with a large flange just below the rim. Inset into interior of the bowl are three rows of evenly spaced rough rock fragments. Interspersed among them are stamped square motifs consisting of rows of dots. The bowl has a small, indented base.

Narrative

Reported to have been found in a tomb near Carthage. Roman form but made and used in North Africa.
