Vessel Item Number: Sf624 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

A coarse, black ware pot with a short, central spout with lip. The vessel is a simplified fish form with tail, dorsal and two pairs of lateral fins. A seam joins the two halves of this flattish pot together and obscures some of the detail of the teeth and lip band. The textural details of the face and fins appear to be made in the mold.

History Of Use

Thick walled and roughly finished. Mold-made. The spout and lips are Chimu in style.
