History Of Use

An axehead which was originally mounted on a round shaft that fit into a ring. Many Vicus axes of this general shape have cast faces decorating the ring (Lumbreras; Disselhoff).

Narrative

Vicus ? Early Intermediate Period, contemporary with Moche 1 and 2; 0-200 C.E.
