Ornament Item Number: Sf697 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
A triangular shaped yellow sheet metal plume with one curved edge. The curved edge has a border of embossed circles. The apex of the triangle is shaped into a rising flange and has two slit-like holes.
A very similar object is cited in Tushingham et al (pl. 8). It is shown as a plume on a frias headdress but the association is suspect. The style appears to be later than Frias and is probably associated with Chimu and Lambayeque Style headdresses.
Chimu or Lambayeque style, Late Intermediate Period; 900-1476 C.E.
