Description

Carved wooden plaque, in open-work has two outward facing birds, each a semi-circle; both standing on a basin shaped base, from which an unpainted handle extends. A vertical groove separates the heads and tails of the birds; two rectangular perforations divided by a horizontal bar separates the backs. Birds and base are stained black with white outlines and white dots; the white has worn off exposing grey in places.

Used in dances, and moved to the beat of the dance (Schmitz).
