Description

Unbleached cotton blouse with long sleeves and a crew neck that has a slit opening on the left side; front is longer then the back. Around the neck is decorated with commercial lace and silver appliqué; the cuffs area edged with a band of commercial lace. There are five vertical lines of blue ink running down the front and back.

History Of Use

This blouse is worn with a vest and/or a jacket for fiesta and everyday wear. The tradition of regionally distinctive dress is still a feature of some of the remote villages of highland Peru. The costumes are a mixture of Spanish influence with surviving indigenous aspects and materials.
