A flaring metal blade with a handle in the form of an eared quadruped with out-thrust lower jaw and turned-up tail.

History Of Use

The knife may be a ceremonial one like those depicted in sacrificial scenes on Moche ceramics (Donnan).

Narrative

Vicus style, Early Intermediate Period; 0-200 C.E. Cast copper blades elaborated by a sculpture at the top have been found at Vicus (Jones; Disselhoff).

The figure may be feline or canine.
