Description

Blue Garuda figure, in human form, with a fanged beak and bulging eyes. Dressed in a breast plate and belt of red and gold, and red and white checked pants. Stylized wings are red, pink, white, and black. The figure is standing on a triangular base with a decorative multi-coloured motif. Marked in brown on the base: 'Garuda Bali'.

Iconographic Meaning

Garuda is a large mythical bird or bird-like creature from both Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Garuda is usually shown in either zoomorphic form (a giant bird with partially open wings), or anthropomorphic form (a man with wings and some bird features).
