Stylized notched arrow point shape cut from hide with single-coloured strands of beads sewn in concentric rows to it. Moving to centre, outermost border is a dark blue strand, followed by two yellow, and remaining central area in red until beadwork entirely covers area. Edging in dark blue pattern with two red loops hanging from tip of arrowpoint shape.

History Of Use

Colourful glass trade beads, first introduced by Europeans to North American Native groups, in east circa 1675, had an impact on aspects of economic and aesthetic activity. Designed and stitched by women. Beadwork made for own family use. Before prominence of tourist art.
