History Of Use

Semi-sheer head cloths are found folded on top of the heads of mummies (Tsunoyama). They are found in simple and elaborate burials and were probably worn on the head during life as well. They are presumed to be women's head cloths (Rowe). A great variety of semi-sheer head cloths have come from Chancay graves. The overall effect and the technical details match Sf829 to an exceptional degree. It is possible they were made by the same person.
