Fragment of plain weave cloth neatly sewn to one weft selvedge. Coarse running stitches and overcasting stitches with several tufts of brown cotton threads along the other weft selvedges. Z-spun, 2 plied s yarns.

History Of Use

Sewing stitches indicate this is part of a constructed fabric, possibly a poncho shirt or a shroud. Double cloth has a long history in Peru. All-cotton double cloth in natural shades is particularly used in the Late Intermediate Period.
