Description

Round brass bowl (a) with lid (b). Bowl is riveted to round raised base 1.5cm. high and 9.4cm. in diameter, rounded near base with straight, slightly flared sides. Lid is shaped like a truncated cone with bulbous knob at point. Bowl has iridescent patina on outside, shiny inside; lid is duller outside, shiny inside.

History Of Use

Used to hold rice or other food. Brass serving and eating utensils are commonly used by wealthier people in Korea.
