Description

Folding fan with thirty-three inner ribs of split bamboo and two bamboo parent ribs. Covered with very light brown paper, painted on one side with a river scene including a boat with two figures, bamboo and trees. Two characters in black and a two character seal in red ink. Black plastic rivet.

History Of Use

Summer fan, round or folding, can be carried throughout the summer by men as well as women. The folding fan is more often seen at the theatre or on the street as it can be tucked easily into the kimono or obi.
