Sample of woven cotton cloth with resist-dyed patterns woven into warp (jaspe). Multi-coloured striped pattern alternating with stripes of black and white jaspe weave patterns in typical designs.

History Of Use

Weaving with resist-dyed yarns is an important occupation for many people of Salcaja. It is pursued intensely and many activities in town are related to this work. Resist-dye jaspe weaving in Salcaja is done by non-Indians (Lambert).
