Description
Sash with six solid red bands interspersed with three purple and two off-white bands, all running lengthwise. Embellished with geometric and bird designs in yellow, purple, green, and white silk brocade at one end. Fringed at both ends.
History Of Use
Men wrap sashes tightly around waist and knot, with fringe allowed to hang. Elaborately patterned sashes were worn for ceremonial occasions. Woven by a woman on a back strap loom. Plain weave; supplementary double-faced weft.
