Arrow Item Number: Na988 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

The small triangular shaped tip has a blunt end and a long shaft with square edges made from one piece of copper. It is inserted in the wooden shaft and lashed on with sinew cord. The end is notched.

History Of Use

Bows and arrows were used for hunting before the introduction of rifles. The MacKenzie Inuit and western tribes had unique arrows because they inserted the arrowhead into the shaft and then lashed it, rather than just lashing it on the shaft as the central Inuit did.
