Arrow Item Number: Na989 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Diamond-shaped copper arrow point. It is inserted into a wooden shaft and lashed with sinew cord which is beginning to unwrap. The end of the shaft is notched and lashed with sinew.

History Of Use

Bows and arrows were used for hunting before the introduction of rifles. The MacKenzie Inuit and western tribes had unique arrows because they inserted the arrowhead into the shaft and then lashed it, rather than just lashing it on the shaft as the central Inuit did.
