Ovoid shaped red-brown gourd decorated with parallel rings of geometric white designs incised in low relief on a yellow ground. Appears unused.
History Of Use
Ceremonial food is served in gourds at funerals and placed on graves. It is a container for festive food at christenings and betrothals. Religious specialists use gourds known as de brujo to hold articles that belong to the person they are to bring good or bad fortune.
