Ceramic horn-shaped cup, polished with spout and incised decoration on upper 1/3 of cup consisting of; a vertical row of chevron patterns opposite the spout, four lozenge-shaped forms below the spout, and four flower forms enclosed by frames of three straight ridges on each side.

History Of Use

Imitation of traditional buffalo horn cup. Drinking cups reflect social rank, with men of authority owning the most elaborately carved ebony-black buffalo horn cups (Gebauer).
