Description

Cloth (tzute) with warp-faced multicoloured striped cotton made of two widths of fabric joined with multicoloured toothed embroidery. One end is unfinished, and the other end is hemmed with multi-strand green cotton whip stitch.

History Of Use

Tzutes are large utility cloths usually woven on a back strap loom. They are used for many purposes including: a sling to carry an infant, wood or other loads; on the shoulder as protection from heavy loads; or, as a head covering (Dieterich).
