Lamp Item Number: Cg59 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Brass lamp consisting of an open, round container with flaring sides and a large triangular spout protruding outwards. Opposite side has slightly curved handle attached by two brass nails and projecting upwards to three-quarters of object's overall height. Handle's interior mid-point has serrated, triangular projection. Black patina in most areas. Top of it is pierced and bolt with ring eye inserted loosely. Threaded through ring eye is the end of a narrow rod.

Narrative

The collector obtained the lamp in British Columbia, but it was said to be from Greenland. Probably cast in Europe.
