Description

A pair of earrings (parts a-b), each having a number of small fresh water pearls strung on a cotton thread. At each end, there is a small red coral bead. The thread is knotted. There are thirty-two loose beads.

History Of Use

Earrings of fresh water pearls are worn extensively by the women of Ladakh. For decorative purposes a glass or coral bead is often threaded on the end.
