Description

Black rectangular piece of cloth sewn with vertical seam at side to form tube. Plain except for front panel, bordered by a wide white appliqued strip at top, and yellow embroidery on all other sides. Colourful geometric pattern within border in white appliqued fabric and embroidery, in white, yellow, pink, green, blue, red, and purple. Narrower white appliqued strip directly above embroidery.

History Of Use

Made and worn by women. Garments have traditionally been reserved for special occasions. With the introduction of Western-style clothes, traditional garments are worn even less frequently.
