Description

Skirt of brown cotton with ends sewn together at the rear to form a tube. An applied blue strip flanked by two tan strips border the top edge and a strip of plain brown fabric forms the bottom border. A central pattern incorporating key patterns inside stepped geometric designs is embroidered on the front in light brown thread with orangey-brown wool (?) linear designs. The design is bordered at the top and sides with a repeated triangle design.

History Of Use

Made and worn by women. Garments have traditionally been reserved for special occasions. With the introduction of Western-style clothes, traditional garments are worn even less frequently.
