Carved figure of a kneeling man with one knee on ground and one on a seal's back. He holds the seal with both hands. The seal is slumped into an s-shape with oval dots and webbed fins. The man is wearing a parka with the hood down and mittens.

Although stone carving has a long history in the arctic, stone art object carving, in its contemporary form, began in the late 1940's.
