Description

Doll representing a female figure, made from unbleached cotton. The doll is wearing a parka, which has a full length back, high cut sides, a long front with pink, brown, and green embroidered trim, and a large hood with fur edging. The doll is wearing mittens, a brown crocheted toque, a brown and white sash, a purple and pink flowered skirt, and boots with embroidered trim and ties. The facial features are embroidered.

Toys and crafts were made by hospital patients as a form of therapy and entertainment.

Narrative

Collected by Grace Adam between 1950 and 1965. Said to have been made by a tuberculosis patient at the Charles Camsell Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta.
