Description

Metal tip is inserted in slit of antler section and riveted. Antler is unilaterally barbed, has line guard by bottom barb and curves slightly at bottom. Base is cut on a diagonal and has a slight lip on the outside. One side of antler has cancellous texture, while the other is made of the cortex.

History Of Use

Used mainly for hunting sea mammals. A harpoon consists of a point with a line attached and a shaft. When thrown, the shaft disengages while the point is embedded in the animal. The line is also attached to the shaft to prevent the shaft from being lost.
