Description

Leaf-shaped metal tip inserted in an antler section which is bilaterally barbed. Base of antler tapers to jagged edge where the end has broken off.

History Of Use

Used mainly for hunting sea mammals. A harpoon consists of a point with a line attached and a shaft. When thrown, the shaft disengages while the point is embedded in the animal. The line is also attached to the shaft to prevent the shaft from being lost.
