Shoe consisting of heavy bark strips plaited into closed, pointed toe, a square back and a long mouth for slip-on style. No. '6178' written in black marker on inner, upper heel.

Narrative

Originally given to the B.C. Provincial Museum by Mr. Elkington in 1945. The shoe had been found with Tahltan objects at Telegraph Creek, B.C., however the style was later recognized as being Finnish in origin.
