Description

White linen dress with embroidery. The dress has a high banded neck, long sleeves and a flared skirt. There is a centre back v-neck opening with a hook and eye closure and two thin tassels. There are borders embroidered with a Nyzynka stitch around the neck, sleeve ends and bottom hem. The borders have a geometric design with a diamond motif in yellow, orange, red, green and black. The inside is unlined.

Traditional dress, typically in bright colours. Both wool and linen were used by rural people. The material was homespun and dyed at home. These dresses were made by women, for festivals, special ceremonies or for dowries.
