History Of Use

Armbands or 'pas pas' are a traditional form of ornamentation for both men and women. Some types cannot be worn by women after marriage. The quality and variety of ornaments are related to the status and wealth of the wearer. These armbands are made by Biami men. Missionaries promoted their production to provide revenue for local groups.
