Specific Techniques

Doug Cramner developed this design while he was resident artist at UBC Museum of Anthropology. The design was to be used for a MOA Gift Shop product that could be produced as an edition using adhesive vinyl as a resist, and pressure cutting the image into the silver using glass beads in the sand blaster. Only one bracelet was successful because the vinyl did not have enough adhesion to the silver. The one that did work was given to Doug who gave it to Vivien Cranmer. One of the other silver blanks used for the bracelets remained with the Cranmer design partially bead-blasted into the silver but not deep enough to be completed. Lyle Wilson took this flat and following Doug's design, engraved the design using his steel engravers.
