History Of Use

Worn by men as body garment. Hand woven by women on a loom. Textile colours are important to the weavers of Arunachal Pradesh; usually dark basic colours which adapt themselves to the surroundings and small design units are preferred. Weaving is associated with many taboos which vary from area to area.
