Description

An unfinished length of two-ply twisted cordage made of flattened sun-bleached grass. One end of the sample is folded and the other is a spray of loose ends. The grass is brittle.

History Of Use

Twisted cordage is used to make reed mats, reed boats and egg baskets.

Made by a member of the family of Esteban Huatta Cruz especially for the collection.
