Description

Seal made of a single piece of bronze; rectangular shape with rounded corners and a handle in the shape of a grass-roofed gabled house; open on three sides with human figure inside. Bronze has orange-brown patina; remains of red ink in incised characters. Characters--written in clear regular style--are 'long life and abundance' (ju and fuku).

History Of Use

Used as a stamp to imprint characters on documents, paintings, etc. This seal is not a personal signature, but instead is used to communicate good wishes on special occasions.
