Description

Silk rectangular sash with unfinished edges on narrow ends; weave creates repeating flower and leaf pattern on alternating horizontal red and black lines and tie-dye spots. Pin-wheel pattern at centre, graduated sizes in triangular form; each wheel consists of five black circles joined to small black circular centre by grey bands, five radiating grey spokes extend from centre beyond pin-wheel.

History Of Use

Used to help secure obi by wrapping around waist and tying in front, it is then pushed down between the obi and kimono to form a decorative band.
