Miniature carved seal with flat snout; black circular graphite eyes on top of slightly rounded head. Body tapers to back. Triangular flippers with triangular notch between. Short flippers at front bottom. Hole drilled through centre top to bottom. Sawn at both ends, rasp-like marks and some scratches on smooth surface. Small amount of mottled dentine at top of head. Entire figure is mounted on a rectangular, brown wooden base.
Modern carving probably made for sale.
Seal images are commonly found on representations and tools associated with seal hunting, in coastal areas.
