One piece of bamboo with curved top end roughly shaped into an animal head with two long pointed ears extending to back and side. Head painted red with colour extending to first ring on shaft.

History Of Use

The staff is among the accoutrements for 'grandmother growth,' who is the oldest woman in the world and has to be supported by a staff; she is also said to perform miracles with the staff.

Animal on staff represents a serpent according to Lumholtz.
