Description

Large wooden shield with carved and painted designs. The shield is rectangular in shape, with rounded corners. On the top is a carved animal head with scales, eyes and teeth, upon a long tapered neck. On the front is an abstract pattern with an arrow motif in white, outlined in brown on orange ground. Knotted through holes along the sides are bark tassels. On the back is a protruding handle with two square holes and a painted zigzag motif.
