Description

Wooden face mask. Heavy brow, broad nose, square chin, and wide mouth with pointed teeth are set within the light yellow carved oval shape. There are carved out openings at eyes, nostrils and mouth. Dark brown paint used for eyebrows, under eyes, under and down middle of chin and as a mustache. Pieces of gray foam line the interior surface and a synthetic string attaches to top and sides through metal eye hooks.

Worn in Portugal's carnival or Lenten ceremonies.
