Bird' s head, in top left hand corner, runs parallel with wing, which reaches from top right hand corner. Black and whitehatched border runs around edge of design. The hummingbird is a common sight on the Queen Charlotte Islands and has here been adapted to a traditional design. Claude Davidson, a well known Haida artist and an hereditary chief in Masset, Chief Dadens, designed the print. His maternal grandfather was Charles Edenshaw, who has come to be known as the first professional Haida artist.
