Context

The almost V-shaped cross section of this mask suggests an alternative provenance of Nootka or Nuu-Chah-Nulth but this is only a tentative suggestion (G.Crowther). The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names haveboth been given in separate GLT fields.; The un-used and rough appearance of this mask suggests it may have been made for sale (G.Crowther).
