Description
Small platter basket decorated on both sides with a combination of false embroidery and woven rings. The designs are in dark brown, red, yellow, green and dark orange. The platter has been damaged, having two pieces missing.; Good
Context
The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names have both been given in separate GLT fields.; The distance between the bands and the geometric style suggests the basket platter was made for sale around the turn of the 19th century (G.Crowther).; Exhibited: Old anthropological displays at CUMAA, dismantled - 8 1986.
