Context

Identified by George Heye of the Heye Museum of the American Indian as Tlingit. The widely spaced bands of decoration and bucket shape are characteristic of early twentieth century baskets made for sale by the Tlingit (G.Crowther). The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names have both been given in separate GLT fields.
